GripDeck now supply high performance eco friendly composite decking. This type of decking has become very popular over the last few years due to the ease of installation and maintenance. There is a wide range of composite deck boards available on the market currently in the UK but the quality of some of these composite boards can vary, from cheap boards containing high percentages of plastic to expensive boards with high natural wood content. GripDeck believes that our environment needs protecting, so we always look at how our products affect the environment. We have selected 2 of the best composite decking systems available on the market today.
EasyDeck® GCC decking has been awarded C2C Gold standard. It contains 75% wood fibres and meets the criteria for sustainable construction and green building according to the DGNB system, LEED® and BREEAM®. EasyDeck® is a clip fix system and it is one of the only boards on the market that can be recycled. SmartBoard® Composite decking is manufactured from waste wood residue combined with recycled hard plastic such as shampoo bottles making it environmentally friendly. It’s dense, stable and strong properties make it ideal for both domestic and commercial applications. SmartBoard® decking is face fixed with screws which are colour matched to the decking. German Compact Composite (GCC) conforms to Cradle to Cradle Certified® Gold Standard – the highest eco-effectiveness standard
The GCC (German Compact Composite) material has been awarded the Cradle to Cradle Certified™ Gold. The certification is awarded by the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute. This means that the GCC material has received the confirmation that is both human and ecotoxicologically harmless as far as all of the contents are concerned at a global level of quality. The ecological evaluation of the integrated water management and the climate-neutral energy concept during production and the high level of social standards at our production site in Germany round off the comprehensive material and process evaluation in an integrated manner. GCC is therefore conforming with the highest eco-effectiveness standard.
