GripDeck® supplied anti-slip softwood decking for the accommodation pods at Lee Wick Farm, a popular glamping destination located on the Essex coastline near the Colne Point Nature Reserve.
The project required an attractive and durable decking solution that would provide guests with safe outdoor spaces throughout the year while complementing the natural surroundings of the site.
The Challenge
Lee Wick Farm has become one of Essex's best-known glamping destinations, offering unique accommodation including Armadillo Pods and other countryside retreats.
Each accommodation unit required a decking area that would act as an extension of the living space, allowing guests to relax outdoors throughout the year.
As the decking would be exposed to rain, moisture and regular guest use, the owners required a decking solution that would provide reliable grip while retaining the natural appearance of timber.
The Solution
GripDeck® supplied 28 x 145mm grooved softwood decking complete with two factory-applied anti-slip inserts per board.
The anti-slip inserts were incorporated into the decking profile during manufacture, providing long-term slip resistance while maintaining the traditional appearance of timber decking.
The treated softwood decking offered an economical and attractive solution for a large-scale hospitality project while helping improve safety for guests in wet conditions.
